
CLEARWATER -- Motorists who intend to travel from Clearwater Beach to Clearwater on Saturday morning will be inconvenienced for dedication ceremonies for the new Memorial Causeway Bridge that is 16 months overdue and will have been open for more than a week.
According to Clearwater officials, the new bridge will be dedicated with a ceremony and 3K (three kilometers, about two miles) "fun run/walk."
The causeway and bridge will be partially closed. Eastbound lanes will be closes from 8:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Westbound lanes, to the beach, will remain open.
Those in the Clearwater Beach area who want to head east can stay where they are or journey south to the Belleair Causeway bridge to go east.
Island Estates residents will be allowed access to the eastbound lanes to get to Island Way.
