CLEARWATER – The Palm Pavilion Beachside Grill and Bar on Clearwater Beach wanted to help those effected by recent hurricanes begin their healing process and reclaim their communities. On Monday, October 10th (Columbus Day) from 5:00 p.m. to closing, the Palm will host “Mardi Gras on the Beach”, a charitable event to raise funds for Habitat For Humanity. “Our hearts go out to those who have been and will be displaced by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita,” explained Cindy Phillips manager of the Palm Pavilion. “Each and every day, the water of the Gulf of Mexico touches our lives. This is our chance to reach out and help those (most effected) rebuild.”

Live music representing Jazz, Reggae, and R&B with performers Shaka, On Que Players, Rocky Ruckman and Jimmy James and Motel Funk will be performing throughout the evening. A silent auction will include gift certificates for dinners, hotel stays, pontoon boat rides, as well as sports memorabilia and other enticing items.
Palm Pavilion food suppliers have donated their products and musicians have donated their services allowing 100 percent of the proceeds to be donated to Habitat For Humanity. Many Clearwater residents, not only sympathize with the plight of those left homeless by this summer’s hurricanes, but realize how easily such destruction could someday happen to the Tampa Bay community. “Mardi Gras on the Beach,” at the Palm Pavilion, will be a chance to celebrate our life here on Clearwater Beach and also show our support for our friends, family and neighbors across the Gulf of Mexico.
