Island Estates Civic Association to hold Holiday Lighting Contest

To promote the holiday season within its community, the Island Estates Civic Association will be conducting a Holiday Lighting Contest for its residents. Originally, participation was limited to members of the Civic Association. However, the Board of Directors in their meeting Tuesday, November 8th voted to open the contest up to all residents on Island Estates. Frank Dame, president of the Association stated, "One of our goals of the Association is to promote unity within our community. By opening this contest to all residents, we are taking a step to achieve this goal." There is no entry or registration. Members of the Board will convene on December 3rd, board a chartered Jolley Trolly, drive the Island and vote for their favorite homes, businesses and condominium buildings.

1st, 2nd and third place prizes will be given for the best homes decorated in the front, a prize for the best decorated back of home, and best overall home. A prize will also be given for the best decorated Condo building and the best decorated business. Back of homes will be judged Friday, December 2nd and all other contestants will be judged on the evening of Saturday, December 3rd.
