City Of Clearwater And The Clearwater Regional Chamber Of Commerce Announce The Winner Of The Business Beautification Recognition Award

CLEARWATER - The City of Clearwater, in partnership with the Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce, announces the first Business Beautification Recognition Award for 2006. This new program was created to honor the uniqueness of Clearwater businesses and to encourage the business community to maintain or make significant improvements to their property while providing the surrounding community with a positive sense of place. The award acknowledges businesses that make a commitment to improving the quality of life for all Clearwater residents.

"I am happy to honor Dr. Louis Paolillo as the first award winner," said Mayor Frank Hibbard. "I am amazed at the difference he has made in our South Clearwater neighborhood. He has set a high standard that I hope others will follow."

The office of Dr. Paolillo, on the northwest corner of South Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue and Jeffords Street, is recognized for outstanding efforts. By purchasing five properties that were in disrepair and converting them into an attractive new medical office complex, he earned this award. A recognition sign will be posted at the entrance of the complex. A bronze plaque and certificate will be presented at the January 19 City Council meeting.

Applications for spring awards are available through Neighborhood Services by calling (727) 562-4554 or 562-4585. Applications must be received no later than noon February 28, 2006. Mail applications to:
