LARGO - For the Branhams, basket weaving became a fun family activity that is now helping others enjoy the ancient craft. In 1994, a father and his daughters were introduced to basket weaving and were immediately captivated, making it a new family tradition. Today, three generations of the Branham family share in the joy of weaving through teaching classes and participating in demonstrations and craft shows. Join them for a series of basket-making classes at Heritage Village and learn to weave baskets that are both beautiful and practical.
Weave your own family traditions by learning the art and craft of making baskets at a four-session Heritage Village series. Beginners can enjoy the ancient art and families can learn together. Basket-weaving classes are scheduled on the second Saturday of the month from January until April at Heritage Village, 11909 125th St. N., Largo. Attend from 10 a.m. - 2 p. m. on Jan. 14, Feb. 11, March 11 and April 8.
A series program fee includes supplies. Pinellas County Historical Society members receive a discounted rate of $23 per class; the non-member fee is $28. Prepaid registration is required.
