Actors from Eckerd Theater Company will be reading author Eric Carle's books as well as creating crafts with children at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 23, Clearwater East Library, 2251 Drew St. Eric Carle is the acclaimed and beloved creator of brilliantly illustrated and innovatively designed picture books for very young children. His best-known work, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, has eaten its way into the hearts of literally millions of children all over the world and has been translated into more than 30 languages, selling more than 22 million copies. Since the Caterpillar was published in 1969, Eric Carle has illustrated more than seventy books, many best sellers that he also wrote.
