The Florida State Club Championship Tournament was held January 28 at Melbourne. Sixty players, on 10 teams, competed.
First and second places were won by Melbourne teams. The Clearwater Horseshoe Club Team #2 came in third. Team members are: Bob Zumbahlen, Ray Hood, Archie Bunting, Jim Hayden, Russ Sorenson and Jerry McCullouch.
The three highest single averages were posted by Clearwater players:
Warren Woolsey - 63.6 percent
Ray Hood - 62.9 percent
Bob Zumbahlen - 59.6 percent
