The Dunedin Historical Society, Inc., will sponsor its fifth biennial tour of historic homes March 11. This tour will feature six homes built between 1909 and the 1940s, and one Spanish Mediterranean home built in the late 1920s. Most of the homes are within walking distance of Dunedin's First Presbyterian Church, the refreshment site of the tour. The hours for the tour are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Advance ticket/programs are available and are $15. They can be purchased at the Dunedin Historical Museum, the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce, the Dunedin Public Library, Cindy Lou's, and the Hale Activity Center. Ticket/programs can be purchased the day of the tour for $20 at the museum. The number of ticket/programs to be sold is limited, and they sell out quickly, so it is recommended that tour attendees purchase their ticket/programs early.
A special feature of the Society's fifth historic home tour since 1998 will be an evening patron's reception, March 10, at the beautiful and historic Meranova Guest Inn. A donation of $50 per individual, or $75 per couple, will treat patrons to an evening of wine, beer, hors d'oeuvres, music, and a special preview tour of the homes with trolley transportation. This very special evening will take place from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Those interested in the patron's reception can contact the museum at 736-1176.
All proceeds of the tour go to support educational programs and facilities at the museum and Andrews Memorial Chapel.
