
CLEARWATER, Fla. (May 12, 2006) The Clearwater Branch of the YMCA of the Suncoast is proud to announce that it will offer the YMCA Splash Program the week of May 22-26 at no charge to local first graders that do not know how to swim. The program consists of five 30-minute classes designed for beginner swimmers. Classes will be offered during morning, afternoon and evening sessions or as follows:

Evening Session
Children that have already taken swim lessons are not eligible to participate in this program. For boys and girls interested in the free lessons, the deadline to register is Friday, May 19. Phone registrations are not accepted.
The goal of this program is to help children learn personal safety in and around the water as well as increase their comfort level by learning basic swimming skills, said Mary Roberts, Clearwater Branch Executive.
Funding for the YMCA Splash Program was made possible by the downtown Clearwater Rotary Club.
