Forever Mom

by Lucille Weiss

This year it's over, but Mother's Day is not,
It goes on forever, like it or not.
Have you given her the life she deserves?
Or have you been an unfeeling nerd?

She has washed your sox, sewed your pants,
When did you ever say, "Thanks?"
Who slipped you a twenty when funds were low?
Who went without so you could have dough?

Little things really mean a lot,
To your mother, though you aren't so hot.
She's your special person, a one of a kind,
Until next year, keep her in mind.
