Pinellas County Early Care & Education Guide Now Available

Coordinated Child Care of Pinellas, Inc., in collaboration with the Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County, Inc., has released the 2006-2007 annual edition of the Pinellas County Early Care & Education Guide. The 4th edition includes complete and updated listings of licensed providers serving Pinellas County.

Sponsored by the Coordinated Child Care of Pinellas Inc. and the Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas County, Inc., 30,000 copies will be distributed free throughout the community. Distribution channels include sponsors and advertisers, Publix supermarkets, Wal-Mart stores, hospitals, pediatricians, obstetrician/gynecologists, and retail locations that serve families.

The guide provides information on child care centers, school age programs, voluntary pre-kindergarten programs, family child care home providers, special needs assistance, and sorted by city and zip code. Included in this information are days and hours of operation and whether lunch is provided. Parents can also find out if a care provider offers a before school and/or after school program and whether the provider is accredited. The 56-page publication also includes articles on the types of child care available, children's health and safety, and development. The articles are presented in English and Spanish.

The Community Resource section lists a variety of important phone numbers, including numbers such as family support services, healthcare, and special needs services. With two pages of very important resources available in the community, parents will find many of the answers they need.
