Thanks to a generous response from the community, local Girl Scouts sent 51,358 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies to military personnel serving their country.
During this year's Girl Scout Cookie Sale Program, Girl Scouts asked customers to buy additional boxes to send to service men and women.
Cookies were distributed to U.S Air Force, Marine, and Coast Guard troops during April and May. Girl Scouts also created cards, letters and posters to accompany the cookies on their journey and invited the community to send along wishes as well.
