Annual Flag Retirement Ceremony Announced

INDIAN ROCKS BEACH - The public is invited to attend the 5th annual Flag Retirement Ceremony to take place at noon on Flag Day, Wednesday, June 14, at Chic A Si Park, 4th Ave. and 2nd St. (near Crabby Bills), Indian Rocks Beach.

This ceremony is held every year to dispose of all American flags, which have become torn and tattered in the service of their country.

Flags may be brought to the ceremony or delivered to Indian Rocks Beach City Hall, 1507 Palm Blvd., or VFW Post 10094, 14288 Walsingham Rd.

This ceremony is a joint effort by the City of Indian Rocks Beach, the Clearwater Chapter of MOAA and VFW Post 10094. Mayor Bill Ockunzzi will lead the ceremony. After a demonstration of how the flags are retired, hot dogs and soft drinks will be served.
