Pinellas County Elections Supervisor Announces July is Register Online Month

Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark - along with the 66 other Florida elections supervisors - is designating July as Register Online Month. Clark's office is looking for local Internet service providers, Internet cafes and other businesses offering Internet access to provide customers with online voter registration, election materials and demonstrations on the touch screen voting machines.

Customers are encouraged to visit www.votepinellas.com; print and complete a Voter Registration Application; and mail or deliver it to any Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections office.

Call (727) 464-5700 to schedule a touch screen voting machine demonstration at a local business that provides Internet access. There is no charge to businesses for this service.

Register Online Month is part of the Get Out the Vote campaign, a statewide voter awareness and education initiative. This voter registration drive is being coordinated to encourage Floridians to register to vote, update their addresses, volunteer as poll workers and vote in the Primary and General Elections.

Previous Get Out the Vote activities included Register at Work Month, Register at School Month, Register at Your Local Merchants Month and Register at Your House of Worship Month. Additional efforts through October are scheduled to increase voter participation in the Primary and General Elections.

For more information about Register Online Month in Pinellas County or the statewide Get out the Vote campaign, call the Supervisor of Elections office at (727) 464-5700, or visit www.votepinellas.com.
