Indian Rocks Beach Mayor Bill Ockunzzi presided over the city's fifth annual Flag Retirement Ceremony to honor veterans on Thursday, June 15, at Chief Chic-A-Si Park. The ceremony was a collaboration of the city of Indian Rocks Beach, the Clearwater chapter of MOAA, and VFW Post 10094. Visitors witnessed a ceremonial flag folding exercise and the ceremonial burning of American flags. Honored guests included members of the Indian Rocks Beach city commission, Congressman's Bill Young's son, Billy Young, and many others. Afterwards food and drinks were provided to those who came out to support the veterans, and everyone was encouraged to take a tour of the Indian Rocks Beach Historical Society and Museum located at the park.
