Service Organizations Team Up For Children's Health Fair

Members of the Civitan Club of Clearwater are on hand to register children attending the Council of Service Organizations of Upper Pinellas 13th Annual Children's Health Fair at the Long Center on July 15. Welcoming brothers Reagan and Thomas Hassler (third and fourth from left, respectively) to the event are (from left) Kim Kelley, past president Frank Kelley and chaplain Carl Leiby, who is also a past president of the club. The Civitan Club was one of many service organizations, including the Clearwater All-American Sertoma Club, Clearwater Chapter of Zonta International, Tri-City Chapter of AMBUCS, area Rotary clubs and Kiwanis clubs from Clearwater, Dunedin, Palm Harbor and Safety Harbor, that teamed up to host the fair which offered free medical and dental checkups for youth 6 months to 19 years of age. Representatives of Morton Plant Health Care were also on hand. Coordinator was Doug Williams of the Springtime City Kiwanis Club of Clearwater.

Eye and spine examinations, cardiovascular screening, hearing tests and immunization shots were also among the free services offered that day.
