Morton Plant Triathlon Winners

Victor Zyemtsev of the Ukraine wins the inaugural Morton Plant Mease Triathlon on Sunday July 16th, setting a time of 55 minutes 20 seconds for next year's competitors to target. The course consisted of a 1/3 mile swim off Sand Key Park, a 13 mile bike leg across the Belleair, Memorial Causeway and Sand Key bridges, and a 3.1 mile run.

Heather Gollnick of Bradenton starts the bike leg. She won the Female Elite class, setting a time of 1 hour 4 minutes 2 seconds. 500 athletes participated in the event.
