Learning how to plait a palm frond at the recent Florida Federation of Garden Clubs District VIII workshop at the Clearwater Garden Club are (seated l-r) Hilary Mammino, Elizabeth France, Pat Geyer, (standing l-r) Cass Robertson, Arline Giolli and Elaine Hartman. There are 42 garden clubs with over 3,000 members in District VIII, which includes Hernando, Pasco, Hillsborough, Pinellas, Manatee and Sarasota counties. Giolli was recently elected president of the Clearwater club, which is also a member of the National Council of State Garden Clubs.
