Members of Chapel-By-The-Sea on Clearwater Beach gather for a photo before picking up garbage bags, latex gloves and other supplies at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium for their participation in the annual Coastal Cleanup on October 21. The event is part of the International Coastal Cleanup, where 450,000 persons from nearly 100 countries were expected to pick up some eight million pounds of debris along thousands of shorelines and waterways around the world this year. The group pictured above planned to pick up trash along the Memorial Causeway. Another group from Chapel-By-The-Sea helped cleanup efforts along the Dunedin Causeway that day. Denise Hawi was coordinator of the community outreach project for the church.
