Caldwell is Executive Committeeman for the State of Florida. All ex-Navy Seabees living or visiting in the area are invited to join the group, which meets the fourth Saturday of each month at the Largo Public Library, 120 Central Park Drive. Members also volunteer at the Bay Pines VA Medical Center and attend state and national conventions. Island X1 is one of 17 Navy Seabee Veterans of America Islands (chapters) throughout the state of Florida. The group's annual Christmas luncheon is coming up on December 7 at the Wine Cellar in Redington Beach. Ex-Navy Seabees can call 391-7889 for more information.
