CLEARWATER - The Carlisle Classic Championship Regatta, which began in 1990 as a fundraiser for the then non-existent Clearwater Community Sailing Center, was held Saturday and Sunday, November 18 and 19, in Clearwater Harbor and the Gulf of Mexico. There were 115 sailors and 36 race committee members on the water each day led by Clearwater Yacht Club Past Commodores David Billing and Fairlie Brinkley.
The Dan Carlisle family was honored for their initial and continuing support of the Clearwater Community Sailing Center at the Saturday night banquet sponsored by the Island Grill
