Dave Williams enjoys a reading session with his three daughters--(from left) Paris, Madison and Sydney--at the "Doughnuts for Dad" event at North Ward Elementary School in Clearwater on December 15. The outdoor shelter was packed with children and their fathers from 8 to 9 a.m. that day. Principal Louise Crowder-Neri said she was especially pleased with the turnout as more parents showed up than were expected.
Proud of their performance in the recent 4-H Tropicana Speech Contest at North Ward Elementary School are the 12 finalists who competed against one another on December 14 for the opportunity to advance to the district competition. Seated (l-r) are Rick Karongo, Juan Rivera, Nicole Hill, Kristina Pinkle and Katie Noun. Standing (l-r) are Dakota Jackson, Tanekia Atkins, Wyatt Pfaff, Sean Serra, Dylan Murphy, Sydney Williams and Spencer Babac. Juan was the first place winner, with Nicole and Kristina taking home second and third place honors, respectively. Juan and Nicole are fifth graders. Kristina is in fourth grade.
