Hamden Drive remains closed at Gulfview Boulevard although it may be able to open on Friday, Jan. 26. Westra Construction is getting ready to lay asphalt which may be delayed due to inclement weather. The contractor successfully completed the pressure test on the new 16-inch water main and is in the process of completing a bacteria test. When certification is obtained from the Department of Health, the new water main will be placed into service. The contractor is also focusing on sanitary and storm sewer work on Hamden Drive.
Sidewalks, curbs, gutters and driveways are being poured on the west side of Coronado Drive. Paving is scheduled Jan. 29 for the west side of Coronado Drive, from Gulfview Boulevard to Hamden Drive, again dependent on the weather. Progress Energy is installing decorative street lighting on the west side of Coronado Drive south of Fifth Street. All work on Coronado Drive will be complete by the end of February.
