Exhibitions and Events at the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art

TARPON SPRINGS - The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art (LRMA) invites you to attend the opening reception for Focus on Five: 5 Years of Collecting and Focus on Five: The Patricia and Thomas J. Lehnen Family Art Collection, Sat., Feb. 17, from 7-9 p.m. The cost to attend the opening reception is free to Museum members and $10 per person for non-members. The exhibitions run through Sunday, April 15.

February Opera and Dance Videos - In collaboration with the Pinellas Opera League, monthly opera and dance videos are presented to the public.

The opera video, Oklahoma, the London Stage Revival, will be shown Sunday, Feb. 11 at 1:30 p.m. in the Museum Auditorium.

The dance video, Bellydance Superstars at the Follies Bregere, will be shown Saturday, Feb. 3 at 1:30 p.m. in the Museum Auditorium.

The opera and dance videos are presented free to everyone and may be enjoyed by children as well as adults.

On the Easel - The monthly program, On the Easel, will be presented Feb. 14 at noon in the Museum Lobby. On the Easel is a program designed to acquaint attendees with works of art gifted to the Museum collection or works that are on loan to the Museum. This month the discussion will feature an oil painting, La Partie de cartes (The Card Party), by Abraham Rattner. A question and answer period will follow. On the Easel is included in the cost of admission to the Museum.

Benefit Gala - Ernest Hemingway, A Moveable Feast. The Leepa-Rattner Museum of ART will host its annual black-tie optional fundraiser on March 3. The event, which takes place in the Museum, is LRMA's most elegant social function of the season. Proceeds from the event will support exhibitions and programming at the Museum.

Ernest Hemingway, A Moveable Feast, has been designed with a unique artistic and creative flair. Heavy hors d'oeuvres, wines and desserts will be served in themed rooms throughout the Museum as guests enjoy the sights and sounds reminiscent of Hemingway's haunts in Africa, Key West, Spain, Paris and Havana.

Reservations are required and are $125 per person and $175 per person for Patrons. Call the Museum, (727) 712-5222 to make your reservations by Friday, Feb. 17.

The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art is located just west of Highway 19 at 600 Klosterman Road on the Tarpon Springs Campus of St. Petersburg College. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tues. through Sat.; evening hours are Thurs., 5 - 9 p.m. and Sun. hours are 1 - 5 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $4 for seniors and free to children and students with ID.
