
ST. PETERSBURG - The NOAA Fisheries Service, the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council, and the Florida Fish Wildlife Conservation Commission are presenting a two-day public forum on grouper. It will be held Tuesday, February 27, from 1 - 5 p.m., and Wednesday, February 28, from 8 a.m., to noon at the FWC's Fish & Wildlife Research Institute, 100 8th Avenue, SE, St. Petersburg.
A Tuesday Evening Social, February 27, will be held from 5:30 - 8 p.m. at Midtown Sundries, 200 1st Avenue, St. in St. Petersburg.
The forum is for the public and will explore more effective ways for agencies and stakeholders to work together. Topics will include:
Understanding State and Federal Regulatory
Understanding Grouper Assessments and Management
Update on Grouper Assessments
Enhancing Public Participation in Science and Management
Enhancing Communications between Fishery Managers and the Public
