Clearwater Sertoma Club Holds Annual Awards Banquet

(l-r) Secretary/Treasurer Norbert Kuhn, Lara Shane and club president Steve Walz

CLEARWATER - The Clearwater Evening Sertoma Club recently held its annual awards banquet at the Golden Coin Restaurant in Clearwater. Annually the club presents two awards.

The first of these awards is the Service to Mankind Award which is presented to a member of the community who has excelled not only in their vocation but has undertaken service to the community as their avocation, and who is not a Sertoman.

The second award, the Sertoman of the Year Award, is presented to a club member who has demonstrated dedication and a commitment to the club and the community.

This year the Service to Mankind Award was presented to Mrs. Lara Shane, Director of Big Brothers and Big Sisters in Largo. Lara, a big sister herself, continues to lead by example. Her dedication to Big Brothers and Big Sisters never waivers. She is a true advocate of this organization, which Sertoma honored her with by the presentation of a plaque, so inscribed.

The club's annual Sertoman of the Year Award was presented to club president Steve Walz. Steve has honored the club as its president for the past two years and continues to display true leadership and guidance.
