The local Civitan Club, organized in 1952 to build good citizenship and help people with development disabilities, will fill out the anniversary month by donating a $500 gift to Clearwater High School students in the Close Up Program planning a tour to Washington, D.C.
This will be followed by a Garage Sale at 3266 San Bernardino St., Clearwater, on Saturday, March 17, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds will benefit Youth Programs at the Homeless Emergency Project.
Saturday, March 24th, Clearwater Civitans and other volunteers will be out at 7 a.m. to participate in the Paint Your Heart Out - Safety Harbor Project. $100 has already been contributed for supplies by the Clearwater Civitans.
The March 20th regular meeting of Civitan at 1260 Engman Street, Clearwater, at 6:30 p.m., will feature a program from Hospice.
On Tuesday, April 3, Hilary Roper, Clearwater High School senior class president, will attend and report on the Youth Government trip to New York, Philadelphia and Washington D.C.
