Of thisah and thatah and whatevah is the mattah with the Big Paper?
The folks at the over praised paper owned by the Pointy-Headed Institute does not carry ALL the news FULLY.
Sad. Anyone subscribing should get on the phone as fast as feet can carry them to that instrument and cancel - CANCEL - immediately.....right now!
The folks are not getting their money's worth. The folks are being fed one side of the story about Largo. The Big Paper is the publicist for sickening perversity.
Along with everything else in this world, we have lost our sense of shame. Now deviancy is flaunted. Pride and posing now attach themselves to what would better be kept quiet.
The nucleus of the problem in Largo regarding the city's city manager now gone astray is simply this - can the city function with a person who has been known as a man in that burg for 17 years but now is going to mince around in women's clothes and insist on being called Susan?
Oh, yes, that's the question folks. There is no other question. Not a question, looking at the Largo city government, of morality or what God wants or thinks is proper.
Think of it. People in the city administration of Largo have known Steve Stanton for years as a man.
Now because of some quirk that he says has been bugging him since childhood (c'mon....) he wants to become a female. (Why no protest in the ranks of females denouncing and rejecting this idea?)
So he will, according to his desires and plan, show up at Largo City Hall dressed as a woman, exhibiting the attributes (as far as we can see of a woman, supposedly) of a woman.
And, given that, the city staff is just supposed to take this ludicrous spectacle calmly and with no outbursts of maniacal laughter?
Get real.
It won't work.
Let me spell it out. I-T J-U-S-T W-L-L N-O-T W-O-R-K.
No way.
And because it won't work, the government will be dysfunctional.
Already Stanton has rules in place that should he continue as city manager (God forbid!) any city employees disparaging or making fun of his skirts or high heels will be severely punished.
That will go on forever.
Imagine - A couple of firefighters or cops or any folks working for the city gathered together to hoist a friendly brew. You think La Stanton won't come up? You think there won't be putdowns? Jollity? Impure language?
And this will get back to the city manager's office and punishment will ensue.
It will never end, I guarantee you.
Largo, already the laughing stock of Florida, and made the same on an ever widening basis on the Internet web sites thrown up talking about Stanton and preaching the benefits of deviancy, will become the fool of the universe.
And it will deserve it.
The people's elected representatives make their decision Friday.
Let's be clear - the issue is not morality or lifestyle choices or any of that.
The issue whether the city can continue to function properly with a male city manager now decked out as a female.
It can't. And that is the only issue.
A final note - Congratulations to the voters of Indian Rocks Beach who took a giant step last week and fixed their broken government by getting rid of what was fouling things up.
You don't read about that in the Big Paper, either.
