The Kiwanis Club of Springtime City in Clearwater, celebrating its 50th Year of Service, has returned to the Long Center and their UPARC cafeteria for their weekly club meetings.
The club meets every Thursday night at 6 p.m. til 7:30 p.m. at the Long Center, 1501 N. Belcher Road.
Kiwanis' Defining Statement is: Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. The motto for Kiwanis is: "Serving the Children of the World".
Recent club service activities have included the 14th annual FREE Children's Health Fair that occurs every July, college scholarships to SPC, many school programs from Headstart through High School including the Ed Wells, Jr. /Kiwanis Invitational Track and Field Meet for the past 45 years, as well as direct donations to children-related groups and causes that benefit children and youth in the Clearwater area.
Kiwanis International has 19 clubs in Pinellas county with more than 300,000 members in 94 nations. Last year, Kiwanis clubs donated more than $100 million and almost 7 million volunteer hours for community service projects.
