CLEARWATER BEACH - Tickets are now on sale for a unique murder mystery event that is not like the typical mystery dinner theater, but instead is a mixing-mingling social party where all of the guests will all play characters they receive in advance.
When guests sign up for the event, they will select a major or minor character. About a week prior to the event, they will be given an envelope with their character summary, which will tell them who their character is, and if they are the killer. Guests will all come dressed in pirate costumes as their character. There is no audience and there are no lines to recite.
The event will be held on Friday, May 11, at 8 p.m., at the Best Western Sea Wake Beach Resort, 691 South Gulfview Blvd. on Clearwater Beach. Special room rates will be available for participants on a space available basis on the night of the event.
All proceeds will benefit Eckerd Youth Alternatives' Transition to Independence Home, a group home in St. Petersburg that houses five teenage boys in foster care. The program assists the boys in learning skills they will need to succeed when the state releases them from care at 18.
Tickets for the event are $50, and includes hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. For ticket information and to select a character, call Jennifer Moore at EYA at 727-461-2990, ext. 401. Due to the nature of the event, all guests must RSVP no later than April 27.
The party is being donated by Murder for Hire Mystery Parties. The company can be contacted at 727-724-3744 or on the web at www.murderforhireinc.com
