SARASOTA - Beginning May 5 through June 4, 2007 the Museum of Botany and the Arts at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens will be adorned with the work of many talented photographers from cities in Florida, as well as New England and the Midwest. Their photographs celebrate the beauty residing at Selby Gardens as well as plant and wildlife captured from around the globe. Film and digital images will be represented and many of the photographs will be for sale.
Awards include best of show as well as first, second and third place for each of five categories: Selby Gardens, plant life/scenic, wildlife, black & white, and manipulated imaging. The opening reception will be held on Friday, May 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Museum of Botany and the Arts at Selby Gardens.
Photographers may download an entry form from Web site at www.selby.org. Go to events, then exhibits and click on Juried Photographic Exhibition. Receipt of Entries will be on Tuesday, April 24 from Noon to 6 p.m. at Selby Gardens' Education Building on 823 South Palm Avenue.

Marie Selby Botanical Gardens is a respected center for research and education as well as a famous orchid showplace. The Gardens are located at 811 South Palm Avenue in Sarasota. It is open to the public daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the exception of Christmas day.
