Indigo Beach Delayed - Or Worse - Do you remember when the Adams Mark Hotel on Clearwater Beach was one of Clearwater's prize waterfront properties? If yes, then you must have been surprised to hear that the proposed Indigo Beach Condo/Hotel Project has been delayed (scraped).
Investors who made deposits on this project are to receive their money back.
No Adams Mark Hotel (they cleared the land).
No Indigo Beach project.
This disturbing news is a set-back for those who thought things were getting brighter for Clearwater Beach.
Clearwater Beach Walk?
Makes you wonder how this city project might end-up.
Build it and they will come?
What happens if they don't build it?
Create Income, Not Expense - There is a chance that many dozens of boat slips could be developed in Belleair Beach (near the City Hall and new bridge project).
New boat slips are needed in Belleair Beach and, more importantly, they would generate city income for many decades. Imagine, more income to help offset expenses!
Pinellas County government has taken many positive steps to help create more boat slip projects in the county.
More boat slips in Belleair Beach?
Let's hope so. More income, less expenses.
Kudos To Largo - When you drive along West Bay Drive in Largo you can't help but notice the well cared for landscaping along the roadway. Largo has also done a great job with their Central Park, library and highway beautification projects.
Well done, Largo.
Telling The Truth About Our Taxes - Why would Pinellas County Commissioner Susan Latvala (R) support the use of our tax dollars to hire lobbyists to oppose tax relief?
Yes, one thing is clear about Susan Latvala - she is no fiscal conservative.
Last year, according to one state representative in Tallahassee, the Florida Association of Counties spend over $24 million of taxpayer funds to hire lobbyists to fight tax cuts. Susan Latvala is president of the Florida Association of Counties. If taxes are cut for taxpayers in Florida, it means government must cut its budget and eliminate government waste. Republicans and Democrats in Tallahassee support cutting taxes to help reduce the tax burdens of Floridians - perhaps County Commissioner Susan Latvala should join the team for tax cuts instead of fighting for more taxes.
Here's one item Latvala could cut from the county budget: County commissioner tax-funded trips and conventions. No, can't cut the perks, but can increases taxes.
Illegal Immigration Protest? - Can you imagine illegal workers from Mexico protesting for more rights for illegal aliens . . . Russia? China? Australia? No.
On May 1st we saw protests throughout America against U.S. illegal immigration laws.
Can you imagine such protests? Can't do it in Mexico . . . .
Why Are Christians Fair Game And Not Others? - When you look at the way certain religious faiths are attacked by the media, and other religious faiths are not attacked, it makes you wonder why.
For example, most every media source in the world avoids attacking the Muslim faith, Allah and Mohammad. Why, fear of retribution by the followers of this faith? Followers of Islam take attacks on their faith as a serious matter and most folks are afraid of radial repercussions (financial and otherwise.)
On the other hand, most anyone can attack the Christian faith without fear of retribution. In fact, it is outrageous that Roman Catholics are routinely ridiculed because they have taken a stand against abortion.
In Europe the Christian faith has been under attack to the point where many denominational Christian churches have been closed due to lack of attendance. Experts predict the fall of the Christian religion in Europe; while, at the same time, Islam is growing in popularity.
Does fear of retribution work?
You tell me.
President Hillary? - If Hillary Clinton becomes President and Commander-in-Chief she said Bill Clinton would become the world's ambassador
On the other hand, perhaps the same Hillary Clinton could name Jane Fonda the world's Secretary of Defense. (After all, Fonda didn't care much about American troops during the Vietnam War!)
Yes, this is the same Hillary Clinton who claimed some "Jewish ancestry" when it was necessary. Yes, the same Hillary, who, as an Arkansas Rose Law Firm lawyer, could not find a file under subpoena until, alas, it was later found in the White House . . . to her surprise. Yes, the same Hillary who wanted national healthcare regardless of the price and, yes, the same Hillary who voted in favor of the war in Iraq. My, she can change like a chameleon.
