City of Clearwater Councilman George Cretekos, kneeling, is pictured with employees of the Public Works Department Urban Forestry Division on April 28 following the presentation of the National Arbor Day Foundation flag representing Clearwater's 25th consecutive year as a "Tree City USA" recipient. A municipality must meet standards set forth by the foundation to receive the honor. The recognition ceremony was held in conjunction with the city's Arbor Day 2007 Tree Giveaway.
