The other day we were in the office talking about mortgage interest rates and you know what? Mortgage interest rates are still near the lowest levels we've had in 20 years. It's good to know there's something positive in the housing market. Consideration should be given to buying property at this time to lock in a good mortgage interest rate.
Sometimes when getting a mortgage, people ask "is a 15 year or 30 year mortgage better?" Obviously, the payment will be higher on the 15-year mortgage, but the amount of money you save vs. a 30-year mortgage would be a great reason for going with the 15- year mortgage.
If you're pay more in rent than you would for a mortgage payment, now may be the time to make that move.
