Tampa, Fl, (May 30, 2007) — Prevent Blindness Florida, a nonprofit organization, will conduct a free vision screening for adults and children at the Clearwater Health Center at 310 N. Myrtle Avenue in Clearwater from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm on Monday, June 11, 2007.
The screenings will be conducted by nationally certified Prevent Blindness Florida staff and volunteers. Children are screened for risk for amblyopia and acuity while adults are screened for risk for acuity, cataracts, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Those who do not pass the risk screening are referred to their eye care professional for a complete dilated eye examination. Prevent Blindness Florida may be able to assist individuals who qualify financially to obtain free examinations and eyeglasses. In addition, eye vitamin samples and information about eye safety and health will be available. No appointment is necessary.
