Sertoma

Sertoma, an acronym for SERvice TO MAnkind.

There are five Sertoma Clubs in Pinellas County and some 115 members who meet at various times, dates and places for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Its purpose is to enjoy each other's company, meet new members, conduct Sertoma business and establish the ground work for new members, fundraisers and the continuation of supporting those less fortunate.

Over the past 50 years or more in Pinellas County Sertoma Clubs continue to conduct fundraisers and are proud to support such organizations as: All Children's Hospital, Big Brothers & Sisters, the Morton Plant Speech & Hearing Center, U.P.A.R.C., the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary, the Y.M.C.A., Kimberly Home for Girls as well as a mired of other institutions as well as individuals who are in need of support. More recently with the cooperation of Publix Supermarkets in the bay area Sertoma members were able to place collection canisters in some 37 Publix Stores for the purpose of collecting used hearing aids that are refurbished for individuals who cannot afford new ones.
