
Clearwater Youth Diversity Poster Contest Winners HonoredCLEARWATER - Sixteen winners of the City of Clearwater's fifth annual Diversity Leadership Council Youth Poster Contest were honored at the August 14 Clearwater City Council meeting. Mayor Frank Hibbard presented $75 savings bonds to first place winners in three of the competition's four categories and recognized all the winners at the 6 p.m. meeting. All artwork was on display. The annual competition is sponsored by the city's Diversity Leadership Council, a group of city employees who promote diversity awareness within the city organization and diversity outreach in the community. It is open to participants of the city's summer camps program, and is divided into four age categories from kindergarten to high school. Participants are given instruction on the meaning of diversity and asked to create images that illustrate what they learn. Prizes, including ribbons and savings bonds are awarded to winning entries in each group. One poster, chosen from all the winning entries, is the grand prize and is reproduced for the Diversity Council's float in the annual city Holiday Parade in December. All winners are invited to ride on the float. Winners include: Estrella Ceron, Laura Lytle, Morgan Cobb, Stephanie Sandoval, Aaliyah Williams. Gregory Hall, Cole Orford, David Tagliaferro, Jasmine Cantero, Isaiah Lewis, Kyra McAbee, Alison Beitzel, Daisha Brown, Altrelsia Evans, Shakayla Betz and Jacob Sarc.
