Eight Annual Rally for the Cure at Belleair Country Club Slated
(l-r) Joi Lenoce, Diane Crowl, Judith Earle BELLEAIR - The Women's Golf Association at Belleair Country Club is already gearing up for their upcoming golf season. The Rally for the Cure Committee is busy planning their eighth annual golf tournament for November 14. Last year was a record year for the dedicated women of Belleair Country Club; they donated over $19,000 to support the mission of Susan G. Komen for the cure to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease. According to Komen for the Cure, each year breast cancer is the leading cause of death for women ages 35-54, and the disease also accounts for more than 75 percent of all cancer deaths in women 55 years of age and older. This year's golf tournament is in tribute to golfer Lyn Cantonis. The women are in the community seeking monetary donations and for hole sponsors for $200 or cart sponsors for $100. The 120 women golfers love participating in a raffle drawing for the many unique and fun gifts that have been donated by the local shops in the area. If you wish to make a monetary donation or donate an item from your store or a gift certificate, call Marianne Bialas at 585-7914 or Leslie Notaro at 215-2199 for details.
