
Subject of Lifetime Movie will be Guest Speaker at Moffitt Breast Education ConferenceTAMPA - Moffitt Cancer Center's Annual FACTors (Fighting Against Breast Cancer Together) Breast Cancer Education Conference will be held Sept. 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Tampa. The $25 conference fee includes breakfast, lunch and materials. The conference is open to the public and registration is required. The deadline to register is Sept. 21. The conference marks the 20th anniversary of the program and will feature two nationally known speakers. The keynote speaker is Dr. Wendy Harpham; a cancer survivor, patient advocate and author of "Happiness in a Storm: Facing Illness and Embracing Life as a Healthy Survivor." Geralyn Lucas is this year's special guest speaker. Lucas was 27-years-old and working at ABC's 20/20 when she discovered a lump in her breast that was diagnosed as breast cancer. Lucas had a mastectomy and subsequently authored, "Why I Wore Lipstick to My Mastectomy", which talked about her experience and discussed her attitude about overcoming the challenges of cancer. The book was made into a movie that premiered on Lifetime last October. The conference will feature a doctors' Q & A panel, educational workshops, professional exhibitors and much more.
