Cleveland Street Streetscape Update
provided by the City of Clearwater
Gibbs & Register crews are preparing to add sidewalk pavers and landscaping along Cleveland Street from Myrtle to East avenues, the final block of the Cleveland Street Streetscaping project. The entire downtown makeover that extends west to Osceola Avenue is expected to be substantially complete in the next month.
Motorists can expect intermittent road closures as tasks for remaining details progress. City officials are planning a Dec. 14 grand opening celebration for the renovated area and details will be available in the coming weeks.
Patrons can take advantage of two hours of free parking in the Garden Avenue Garage, additional parking along Osceola Avenue between the Main Library and Cleveland Street, and designated parking spaces on Cleveland Street from Osceola to Ft. Harrison avenues.
The next Hard Hat meeting is 8 a.m., Oct. 25 at Cleveland Street Café, 615 Cleveland St. City and construction officials will be on hand to answer the public's questions regarding the project. For further updates on construction, check out the city's website at www.myclearwater.com/downtown, or call the Streetscape construction office at 462 6126.
