
Jill Silverboard Named Assistant City Manager
CLEARWATER, Fla. - City Manager Bill Horne has announced that Jill Silverboard will fill the Assistant City Manager position. Silverboard, who has nearly 20 years experience in local government administration, currently serves as City Manager of Madeira Beach, Fla. Prior to her position in Madeira Beach, Silverboard was City Manager in Destin, Fla. for a year and Deputy City Manager for four years. Prior to Destin, Silverboard promoted to various positions, including Deputy City Manager, during her eight years at the City of Hallandale Beach. Silverboard earned a Masters of Public Affairs from Western Carolina University and a Bachelor of Arts from Lenoir-Rhyne College in North Carolina. She is a member of the International City Management Association and is an ICMA Credentialed Manager. She is also a member of the Florida City and County Management Association, American Institute of Certified Planners, American Planning Association, and the National Business and Professional Women's Club. "We are happy to have someone with such a wide variety of local government administrative experience to become a part of our leadership team," said City Manager Bill Horne. "I look forward to Jill's leadership as we continue to seek creative solutions to meet our community's needs." Silverboard starts December 3, 2007 and will replace Garry Brumback who left for a City Manager position in Texas.
