Clearwater Civitan Awards $500 Educational GrantsThe Clearwater Civitan Club has awarded educational grants to: Ginande Jester, in her third year teaching at Calvin Hunsinger School, is working with severely emotionally disturbed, or emotionally handicapped elementary students. She received her B.S. Degree in Exceptional Education from St. Petersburg College and was School Board Certified as such in 2005. Ginande will be working toward a Masters Degree in Special Education as a Speech Pathologist. Liza Johnson has been a Special Education Teacher for 12 years. She has taught at Calvin Hunsinger School for the last 11 years. She received her B.A. Degree from the University of Florida, and her Masters Degree in Special Education at the University of South Florida. Liza is working toward achieving the prestigious National Board Teacher Certification, a year-long project. National Certification is the standard for Professional Educators and reflects on the high value our community places on education.
