Senior Friendly Extravaganza Coming to Tropicana Field ST. PETERSBURG - The 6th annual Senior Friendly Extravaganza! presented by Senior Connection magazine is coming to Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg on Wed. and Thurs., Nov. 14 and 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event features over 250 "Senior Friendly" exhibitors with information on senior services, lifestyles, health and wellness, travel and more. There will be special appearances by Frankie Avalon and Richard Simmons. Singer Actor Frankie Avalon "De De Dinah", "Venus", "Beauty School Dropout" (Grease) will make a special stage appearance Wednesday and Thursday. He will be available to sign autographs. Humana MarketPoint presents Richard Simmons on Thursday only. Richard Simmons will lead the Warm-up for the "Senior Fun Walk"at 9 a.m. Attendees are welcome to join him inside for a meet and greet and his own fitness demonstration Live entertainment both days! This year the 50th Anniversary of American Bandstand will be celebrated with . . . "Bandstand Boogie" a 50s, 60s Show with American Bandstand Recording Artist, Mary Swan "My Heart Belongs to Only You" and "Crying in the Chapel", Ken Brady of the Casinos "Then You Can Tell Me Goodbye", Doo Wop by Richie Merritt-(The Marcels, The Clovers) and Nashville Recording Artist, Marti Carroll. Entertaining both days as well are Denise Looney- "The D J with a Twist!", Mr. Live to Dance- Bill Castner, Russell Cortese as "Elvis", Magic & Balloon Art, Fritzy the "One Man Circus" and more! NEW this year! A Classic Car Show. Vote for the best cars of 50s and 60s! Trophies will be awarded for the winning cars on Thursday. Activities of the day include: arts and crafts, make-it and take-it, free bingo games, a golf swing analysis, free restaurant and product samplings . The Extravaganza will have $1,000s in prizes and giveaways including a free 4- night Royal Caribbean cruise for two, and two roundtrip tickets on USA 3000 Airlines and Allegiant Airline tickets. Senior Fun Walk The "Senior Fun Walk" (9 a.m.) kicks off the fun, on Thursday 11/15 with a warm-up by none other than Richard Simmons. The "Walk" is one mile around Tropicana Field. There is a $3 minimum donation to Meals on Wheels. Walkers will enjoy a Continental Breakfast, Sponsor "Goodie" Bag, Walk Certificate, T-Shirt to first 100 Walkers signed up and grand prizes to the Winners!
