Gasparilla Festival of the Arts Seeks Emerging Artists
Participating Emerging Artists Eligible to Win $1,000 Prize
TAMPA, Fla. - The Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts is seeking emerging artists interested in participating in one of the top-rated outdoor fine art shows in the country, to be held in downtown Tampa March 1-2, 2008. The Gasparilla Festival of the Arts Emerging Artist Program recognizes and showcases the artwork of up-and-coming artists representing a diversity of styles and media who wish to establish themselves in a professional visual arts career.
The emerging artists selected to display at the festival will participate at no cost and be provided with an individual display tent in addition to a $250 expense allowance. Although emerging artists do not compete against the other festival artists for prize money, their artwork will be juried by a festival juror and will be eligible to receive the $1,000 Emerging Artist Award.
Qualified applicants to the Emerging Artist Program are those who have not previously exhibited their art in museums or major galleries or received a substantial portion of their income from the sale of their art. The deadline for applying is Dec. 15, 2007. For more information, please visit the festival website at http://www.gasparilla-arts.com.
Proud of bringing the very best fine arts and fine crafts to patrons, the 2008 Raymond James Gasparilla Festival of the Arts will celebrate the 38th anniversary of this traditional arts festival.
