LITERACY COUNCIL UPPER PINELLAS, INC.The Literacy Council Upper Pinellas, Inc. is seeking persons who have an interest in learning to tutor students in basic English and English as a Second Language. The non-profit organization currently has 58 active tutors, 62 assigned students and 39 students who are on a waiting list for one-on-one classes. Tutors are non-paid and classes are free for students, who pay only for their books. Dates for the next new tutor workshop at the Dunedin Public Library are Tuesday, January 8, 2008 (Orientation) and January 12, 19 and 26 (tutoring classes).
