Nicholas P. Lazaris Receives Looking Beyond the License Plate Award

Lazaris was selected to receive an "Honorable Mention" in the 2007 Looking Beyond The License Plate National Law Enforcement Recognition Program. Deputy Lazaris received the award from Julie Burke, Account Executive at 3M Traffic Safety Systems Division, on behalf of the International Association of Chief's of Police (IACP) January 8th at the Sheriff's Administration Builidng Deputy Lazaris' entry was selected for his efforts in running a tag and continuing the investigation that lead to the identification and arrest of a suspect wanted in connection with a Georgia homicide. The Highway Safety Committee of The International Association of Chief's of Police (IACP) selected Deputy Lazaris' entry out of entries from all over the United States and Canada. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office submitted Deputy Lazaris as a nominee in late March 2007 and the Sheriff's Office received notification that he was selected in June 2007.
