37TH Annual Daisy Luncheon and Fashion Show Swings into Spring
CLEARWATER - The GFWC Clearwater Community Woman's Club's 37th annual Daisy Luncheon and Fashion Show will be held Thursday, April 10th, at the Harborview Center, 300 Cleveland St., in downtown Clearwater. This year's theme is "Swing into Spring" and will feature fashions from Stein Mart.
The event will start with a social hour at 11 a.m., followed by a show and luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Tickets for the event are $40 and patron-level tickets, which include a listing in the event program, are $50. Tickets for deluxe opportunity prizes will also be available.
Highlighting this year's show will be the musical styling of Chase Vaccaro.
Georgia Jensen, CCWC member and event chair states "We are very excited to feature Chase Vaccaro as he is a crooner of our time who will present a tribute to his idol, Frank Sinatra." Vaccaro has been singing along with his idol since he was five years old. He feels it is a privilege to have an instrument in his voice that will keep the music of the past part of the future. By day, Vaccaro is a Clearwater policeman, by night he performs at many local venues, including the Seminole Hard Rock Casino. The ever-popular Bunny Ott Dancers will add to Vaccaro's swinging performance.
For the past thirty-six years the GFWC-CCWC has awarded thousands of dollars to local non-profit organizations. With the economy in the news every day, and many local non-profits struggling to meet their clients ever increasing needs, it was felt that it would be more beneficial to offer several grants rather than one award. Thirty-seven agencies applied with a multitude of pressing needs. The proceeds of the event will be used to fund several of these grants and they will be presented to the winning entries during the program. Donations and sponsorships from the community to help fund these grants are still available.
