Recs and ReadsBy Anne McKay GarrisGet ready for a tongue twister -- it's Fun For Families Frog Friday Pool Party time at the Clearwater Beach Family Aquatic Center on Mandalay Avenue across from the fire station. The first Frog Friday Pool Party of the season will be on May 2, from 7:00 to 8:45 p.m. It's not just swimming and splashing in the pool. It's pool games, pizza and drinks. And the price is right, $3 with a play pass, $4 with a recreation card and $5 without a card. The Frog welcomes all ages. You are invited to bring the kids or, if they're over eight, drop them off for a fun evening, with, or without you. Come see if they still play "Marco - Polo" as they did when we were kids. Maybe what they play now is "catch the cell phone before it lands in the pool." If you miss this one, mark your calendar for June 13, July 11, and August 8. That's when other Frog Friday Pool Parties are planned. Meanwhile, good summer reading is waiting for you over at the temporary quarters of the Beach Branch Library (in that construction trailer beside the pool). Tentative plans are for the newly renovated Recreation Center/Library to be finished by June 1 and ready for occupancy around the first of July. Friends of the Clearwater Recreation Center/Library are planning some interesting programs when the new facility provides more spacious quarters to accommodate them. Stay tuned!
