
Abilities Guild Installs Officers and Presents Fundraising Check

On Friday evening, May 2nd, the Abilities Guild installed their officers for the fiscal year 2008-2009 at a dinner party at the Belleair Country Club. Past president Midge Coward read the oaths of office to the new officers. Following the ceremony in which each officer received a red rose, Bill Hollingsworth and Roger Ormerod presented the check of the 2007-2008 fundraising events proceeds to the Abilities Foundation. Melissa Thorton, executive assistant to president and CEO of Abilities Foundation Frank DeLucia, and Sandy Liberatore, events manager for the Foundation, accepted the $35,000 check on behalf of Mr. DeLucia. Abilities Guild is a friend-raising fundraising group supporting the Abilities Foundation in their mission to support the needs of people with disabilities through gainful employment, independent living, affordable housing, education and recreational health and cultural resources.
