2008 A TASTE OF PINELLAS
ST. PETERSBURG -- It’s about the FOOD, It’s about the TUNES, It’s about the KIDS. A Taste of Pinellas will be held in St. Petersburg’s Vinoy Park, a large picturesque venue, where 50 participating restaurants serve up their specialties. The 2008 A Taste of Pinellas is the 22nd edition of Tampa Bay's favorite food and entertainment event.
Admission to the park is FREE. The Taste is open on Friday, May 30 from 5 p.m .to 10 p.m.; Saturday, May 31 from noon to 10 p.m.; and Sunday, June 1 from noon to 7 p.m. Each participating restaurant prepares and sells tastes of their most popular dishes. Diners purchase sheets of tickets for tastes of their favorites. Tickets can also be used for kid’s activities and interactive games.
This fundraiser is staged in conjunction with the All Children’s Hospital Telethon, broadcast live on WFLA-TV News Channel 8 May 30-June 1. Cyndi Edwards and Dave Nemeth, hosts of Channel 8’s Daytime program, will be on hand during Sunday’s festivities with live updates on the action. All Children’s Hospital, a jewel in the crown of St. Petersburg, is currently undergoing a major expansion program.
While parents graze through the food booths throughout the weekend, youngsters will find plenty of activities in the Kids Zone. Activities include an inflatable water slide and bounce houses. Kid’s Zone entertainment includes popular DJ Rob Snyder with music and games.
